Merging two names

I'm trying... without success to merge two gmail accounts. My pre-Chase name and my post-Chase name. Apparently, I thought it was important to change my email account to reflect my new name/identity. This has been more effort and distress than I think it's worth. Now I'm contemplating switching my email life back to my pre-Chase account. I'm still undecided. I'd really like to just merge the two... but that just doesn't seem to jive with how Google rolls.
